📰 Key Updates
📝 Developer Update – Wates Replaces Grosvenor
A contract was recently signed between Wates and Hammonds LLP, replacing Grosvenor as the development partner. This has no involvement from Chelmsford City Council. Hammonds Farm is still not adopted into the Local Plan — and if it is, full planning permission will still be required.
💬 Third Consultation Confirmed – January 2025
We will need to object again early next year. The objections you’ve just submitted won’t carry forward — a tactic that seems designed to wear communities down. But we will be ready.
📈 A Milestone Achievement – 4,000+ Objections
We are proud to share that over 4,000 online objections were submitted, with an estimated 250–300 more by post. This is the highest ever objection total in Chelmsford City Council’s history.
Despite CCC’s inaccessible consultation portal, we turned the system to our advantage by offering a smooth objection process via our website — and it worked.
