🙏 A Huge Thank You to Every One of You
One of the largest local plan responses in the UK – ever.
You’ve just helped deliver one of the largest responses to a Regulation 19 Local Plan in the UK.
Wiltshire’s Local Plan had 10,700 responses in 2023 – but that was an outlier. Across all stages, we’re the biggest.
🥇 We Can Now Confidently Say:
“This is one of the largest Regulation 19 responses ever recorded in the UK — and over all three stages is easily the largest.”
Here’s how we got there:
- ✍️ Stage 1 (Issues & Options): Over 3,000 objections
- 📝 Stage 2 (Regulation 18): Over 10,000 objections
- 📢 Stage 3 (Regulation 19 – the toughest yet): Almost 6,000 objections!
That’s nearly 20,000 objections across the plan process.
All this despite a clunky portal, red tape, and complex technical requirements.
And still — you turned out in your thousands.
You stood up.
You spoke out.
You made your voice heard.
What Happens Now?
Chelmsford City Council must now:
- ✅ Upload and validate thousands of objections
- ✅ Prepare documentation for the Planning Inspector
- ✅ Respond to the technical and legal challenges we’ve raised
If you submitted via our website – you’re in.
If your objection hasn’t appeared yet – don’t worry. CCC is still uploading and confirming entries. You should receive an email notification in time.
Our Team Has Delivered:
- ✅ A 500-page professional objection (on behalf of four Parish Councils)
- ✅ Expert reports on flooding, traffic, heritage, and planning law
- ✅ Legal representation secured – we’re heading to the Independent Examination
- ✅ Over £30,500 raised to date – but we’re not done yet
