Dear Supporters,

Utter chaos on the A12 at junction 18 will be the norm if Hammonds Farm gets the go ahead.

We really care about the local area and preserving the rural life we all cherish and enjoy. However, as too frequently happens, it doesn’t take much for the local infrastructure to become completely overwhelmed, such as the roads. Imagine what an extra minimum of 3,000 houses (with scope for 12,000) would do if Hammonds Farm goes ahead! Sandon, Little Baddow, Danbury and Boreham would be at breaking point.

With Chelmsford City Council’s Local Plan containing no mitigating measures that would sufficiently deal with this extra strain on the A12, A414 and the connecting lanes and roads—and the extra traffic that would ensue being labelled simply as ‘background traffic’ by the Council—it is clear that the plans for Hammonds Farm are flawed and unsound.

This is your last chance to stand up and make your voice heard. Don’t delay in completing your objection—when the deadline for the public consultation of 4pm on Tuesday 18th March arrives, no further objections can be raised and it will be over to the Planning Inspectorate to review and make a decision.

We’ve done the hard work for you. The objection page we have created only takes a few short moments to complete. We urge you to complete yours today and to tell as many people as possible to do the same.

📣 How You Can Help Today

  1. Share the link to the objection form:
    https://notohammondsfarm.co.uk/regulation19
  2. Forward this email — all of the details of the proposals are recapped below.
  3. Ask 5 people to object — whether in person, by email, or on social media.
  4. Remind them — every voice counts and time is running out!

Together, we stand united against these proposals and for protecting our countryside. Thank you again for your support — let’s keep the momentum going!

🧾 Recap on the Local Plan – Regulation 19

16a – Hammonds Farm:
A sprawling estate of 3,000 houses and 500,000 square feet of industrial area/distribution warehouses.

16b – Columba Park (Pigeon):
An additional 500,000 square feet of industrial area, including 88 HGV docking bays.

These developments would forever alter the character of our area. If they go ahead, this beautiful countryside will become part of the urban sprawl of Chelmsford City.

⚠️ Why We Are Opposing the Local Plan

❌ Traffic Chaos – Roads are already at breaking point
❌ Environmental Damage – Wildlife and protected sites at risk
❌ Farmland Loss – Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever
❌ Flawed Process – Better options ignored
❌ Flood Risk – Increased development raises serious concerns
