Campaign Newsletter – 4 March 2025

Welcome to this campaign update. In this issue:
– The public objection form is now live
– Parish public meetings begin this week
– Objections don’t need to be local or limited to one per household

Hi everyone,

Thank you for signing up to the newsletter for the proposed Hammonds Farm Development.

The public meetings held by the Parishes kick off this week with a meeting at Danbury Mission on Monday at 19:30. Everyone is welcome to attend any of the events and we are hoping for a good turnout. These meetings will highlight the various grounds on which you may wish to object.

Great news: the objection process is now live on www.notohammondsfarm.co.uk/submission-form. This has been set up to make the objection process easier, as opposed to trying to navigate CCC’s Local Plan Portal.

Ideas on how to form your objection letters can be found there, but please remember that each objection must be individual and distinct.

Please also note:
– Objections aren’t limited to one per household
– You don’t need to live in the area to object
– Share the form and website with friends and family — more objections mean a stronger community response

While leafleting this weekend, many people said that although they’re opposed to the development, they feel it’s a “done deal”. Our response to that is: it’s not.

Even if it gets through this stage, the Local Plan must be submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination. There is precedent for change — for example, in Heronby, Yorkshire, a similar plan was shelved after strong local opposition.

We hope to see you at one of the meetings — or, if not, we look forward to seeing your objections come through.
