Dear Supporters,
We hope this newsletter finds you well. As the campaign continues, we want to express our deepest thanks for your unwavering support.
This fight isn’t just about opposing developments — it’s about defending the countryside, protecting local character, and standing firm against decisions made without proper scrutiny or consent.
🏛 National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) Changes
Recent NPPF updates place more weight on sustainability and offer potential protections for greenfield land. This is encouraging — but it’s not a silver bullet.
Developers may still exploit loopholes, and pressure on local authorities to meet housing targets remains. We must stay vigilant.
💸 GoFundMe Update – Over £21,000 Raised!
Thanks to your generosity, our legal fund has passed £21,000.
Every donation supports:
- 🧑⚖️ Legal representation (Barrister and solicitors)
- 📑 Expert consultants on environment, planning and traffic
- ⚖️ Administrative costs (e.g., filing, hearings, document prep)
You can also donate via bank transfer or cheque — details are on the website.
🏗 Hammonds Farm & Junction 18 – Developer Moves
Hammonds Farm: Wates Construction has now replaced Grosvenor as lead developer, and their track record shows they are serious about delivery.
Junction 18 (Pigeon): A separate but equally damaging industrial estate proposal. Increased traffic, pollution, and landscape destruction — our objections remain firm.
✅ Chelmsford City Council Has Logged All Objections
We’re pleased to confirm that CCC has now finished logging all objections from the last round.
Your objection is officially recognised — and this is vital for our legal and planning case. We will continue to monitor CCC to ensure all entries are publicly visible and considered.
🙏 Thank You for Your Continued Support
This is a pivotal moment. With developers pushing forward and CCC still backing the wrong sites, our campaign matters more than ever.
Let’s keep standing strong — and make sure that our countryside is protected for the generations to come.
